Very cool dude, thats really fast!

When you go out on a long boom, say, 42m or above, do you have an oiler? Just curious, I see pix of guys up several stories with no one at the pump backing in trucks, checking the water box, greasing the back end every 100 yards, and adding water.

Ouch! That's what we used to do back in the early 70's, (before my pumping career), but, too many blown hyd. lines, hit hoppers, and the like, and no-one to accept liability. Blow a hyd. line, don't know it, lose the boom, cavitate a pump and lose it, wow, major problems. If we are right next to our pumps, we sometimes cowboy it. Likewise, the contractor used to supply a laborer, but they don't grease rear end and keep the screen clean, and when they fall, it's lawsuit time again. Now, 42m and up require an oiler, both union companies and non union.

up here in NY state, they dont require oilers for any booms over 42 unless your in the city (New York City) Then its required. Anywhere else in NY or PA no one requires it.

I REALLY DONT SEE A NEED IN AN OILER JUST MORE HELP FROM THE CONTRACTOR WOULD BE NICE! THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO HELP SETTING UP BUT NEVER EVER AT THE END OF THE POUR THEY SEEM TO SCATTER!

Ha! I hear ya! In the morning it's all about us. Help us get in, help with dunnage, hoses, whatever. When day is done, POOF! Everyone is gone.
